It all begins with a theme.
What is the main concept you want to get across? If visitors remember one thing about this exhibit, what do you want it to be?
I love pulling out stories for exhibits. Check out my work samples.

Informational Exhibit Signs
Signs that provide informational content relevant to the whole exhibit theme and are not tied to a specific exhibit piece.
I enjoyed designing the layout for these signs and finding images and icons. I love finding tidbits of information that wows the masses but also ties into the information presented in addition exhibit signage and pieces.

Role Model Signs
While visiting with an actual person is the best recipe for an engaging experience with a role model, in the absence of a real person, having a sign allows a child or adult to see “someone like me.” These Role Model signs connect visitors to real people with real life struggles and accomplishments. For this project, I hand picked women and underrepresented minorities in science including individuals that did not have a traditional path to higher education. All signs have a great deal of chunking including a quote to pull a reader in to learn more if they so choose.

Task Cards
Task cards provide a way for additional signage that allow visitors to go more in depth with an exhibit. They are perfect for older audiences that want to feel like they are exploring like a scientist.
Task cards are a great budget-friendly compliment for mobile exhibits.
